說到option,相信大家都不陌生。option最核心的意思就是the act of choosing, selection。
比如:Her option was to quit school and start her own business.
option其他引申的含義還包括:
the freedom or power to choose
比如:we have the option of driving or taking the train.
我們可以選擇駕車或乘火車。
此外,option在商業及股票領域,也有其衍生含義:
(Commerce) an exclusive opportunity, usually for a limited period, to buy something at a future date
通常指在有限的時間內,擁有獨有的在未來某個時間購買某件東西的機會。
舉例:He has a six-month option on the Canadian rights to this book.
關于這本書的加拿大版權,他有6個月的選擇購買權。
option還可以做動詞使用,to acquire or grant an option on (在……方面獲取或授予選擇權)
關于option的短語:keep/leave (one's) options open (保留選擇余地,暫不做決定)
舉例1:You're awfully young to be getting married. I just think you should keep your options open until you're finished with college.
